...

I have to admit school redeemed itself on friday. Finally had work prep. and geography which turned out to be one of my fav classes :) Since there's no assignments in work prep. and we have like the smallest class for geography, only have about 12-14 people altogether. Yay! :L

Need to sort out my traineeship day with my boss because I love sport too much to give up interschool sport. I've put my name down for softball (softball and touch were the only sports girls can choose from :S And since I never liked touch, I've decided to join softball to bring back old memories :D)so hopefully I'll get to play.

Wasted the whole of yesterday by spending time on internet doing nothing, had a nap that took up most of the arvo, watched a french movie, finished reading a book and on internet again telling the blogging world about my lame as day.
I've realised I've developed a lazy personality during the holidays and now I cbf to do anything. But while just sitting there staring into space, I kept thinking how I should be doing something useful like go jogging/do some excercise (since I didn't excercise at all in the holidays)or study something but school only just started and there's nothing to study but I kept having this feeling that if I don't start doing some assignments or look at somthing I'll fail everything and my life as I know it will be over. But then I'll have to keep reminding myself that we haven't done anything in class yet but I'm still paranoid. :S I'm such a freak seriously.

Pretty much worked during all my waking hours today...thanks to my lovely nap yesterday arvo, I managed to wake up late this morning :)Work was pretty average. Had ups and downs.

Anyways, school tomorrow should be fun since I don't have english on monday :) SCORE!

school update

*sigh*
It's been two days of school and I'm not liking it. Firstly, they (im not even sure who they are) keeps making things sound more important then they are. For example, a test is now called supervised assessment. WTF? my thoughts exactly. So with the new terms, new homework/assessment policy, new ways of doing .... confused the crap out of me!

While thinking drama and FTV would be the worst subjects because of the teachers I got when I first read my timetable, they turned out to be the best so far! While english, math and chemistry was boring and lame and all we do is listen to the teacher talking non-stop. Haven't had work prep. and geography yet so that's to come in the future.

Also, because I'm doing QIP (program which involves the senior kids helping the yr 8 kids settle into high school), the pc group I'm in charge of seems to either be ignoring me or giving the evil eyes :S
And since no-one tells us what days/when we should be with our yr 8ers, it made things awkward. *sigh*

So two days of school and I'm ready to go on a holiday again. I have to say I really miss all those days where I just wake up and watch Gossip Girl or something while eating breakfast without having to be anywhere at anytime. The feeling of freedom have escaped from my reach!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *sigh* at this rate I rather go to work then go to school everyday.

Australia's Next Top Model!!...audition...

I actually started writing the following content on tuesday so the following events happened on tuesday not today :)

GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!!!?

I'll give you some hints..
  • Alex Perry
  • Queen Street Mall
  • Fox 8 Crew
  • at lease about 300-400 tall & pretty girls....

IT'S THE AUSTRALIA'S NEXT TOP MODEL AUDITION!!!

That's right, the sixth season of Aussie Top Model was having its Brisbane audition at Queen Street Mall today. So me and some friends (Karen + Erika) decided to go check it out :)

We were walking along Adelaide Street trying to find the place since it says it's held at Adelaide Street on the thingy we saw. But then Erika said that she heard on B105 that morning that it's at the Queen Street Mall stage so we went...looking out for tall pretty girls who might be auditioning so we could just follow them LOL

Then I saw it...a line that is honestly at lease 200m long, stretching from the stage are the 300-400 girls all hoping to become Australia's Next Top Model. Some stood out, some not so much. We then walked past them, checking out which ones have potential. We then reached back stage and we saw ALEX PERRY being interviewed by Fox 8! He was doing his signature pose and acting all macho and cool :L And we believe he saw us watching him :P

The audition starts at 11 and it was aroung 10:20 but we decided to get a spot anyways :D

Finally the show began. Let the search began! The judges were Alex Perry and Jaz ( I think). The girls were to go up to the judges in groups of 3 and they'll either tell them to walk for them, take head shots or just not what they were looking for. The models all have an application form and if their forms were given back to them, that means they were successful. I was shocked to see the girls who I thought has great potentials were knocked back by the judges >.<

Some memorable ones were this girl with jet black hair who the judges asked to walked the runway TWICE! She made it through and in my opinion the best of the patch. Also another chick with black hair who dressed like a school girl and is gothic looking (and I heard someone sitting next to me said and I quote 'She looks like she should be in underworld' Mmm...agreed but she'll still be good as a model lol)who was also made to walk the runway twice. Another one was a dark skinned girl with an afro. In my opinion she was feisty as but she didn't made through :S

And there were some weird ones. There was girl dressed like she lives in Narnia. No joke. From her hair to her shoes, she looked like she lives in a village in a forest. Green shirt with leave patterns that shows her stomach, long brown skirt and leather shoes! Another one is a girl with bright pink/orange hair :S Which Erika said that should be in the circus haha.

Overall the audition, hosted by some guy from B105 and filmed by the Fox 8 crew, was awesome! :D The B105 guy did some questionaire stuff during breaks and gave away some t-shirts. I didn't get one :(

The following is written today...

Here's a story based on true events.

*Warning: The following content is highly exaggerated...this kinda cool stuff just doesn't really happened in real life*

This story is called : Jade's Extremely Brave and Truely Heroic Epic Battle Against...*drum rolls* A FLY!

It happened one uneventful Tuesday night in a quiet subarban neighbourhood where the heroine of the story, Me! :D, was reading Scene (music mag) and doing sudoku before bed when suddenly, I heard an awefully annoying buzzing noise which can only come from one of the most annoying creatures in the world...a fly. Then I saw its pair of bifocal eyes which met mine. Instantly, anger rose from deep within my guts so with all my might, I flung my magazine at it. Damn, I missed but all true heros start as a no skilled loser :) I quickly jumped up (so fast that it should've been a ninja world record) and pressed my back againt the wall commando style. Using my binoculars/x-ray vision goggles, I surveyed the room looking for my peanut-size enemy. Without any luck, I was about to gave up when my fellow villager/hunter/fly-hater (mother) informed me that our little pest is in the bathroom!

With a new wave of hope and triumph, I grab a bigger magazine and charged toward the battlefield. "Are you ready?" asked my fellow villager/hunter/fly-hater (mother). I looked into her eyes, put my hand on her shoulder while gripping the slightly bigger magzine in the other hand and said, "Well I will sent it a message, my fellow fly hater! You fight now, with me! And we will show all peanut-sized flies...that they cannot take whatever they want. And that this... this is our land!" (notice how I kinda quoted from Avatar :) haha ). With that heart-felt/touching speech, I kicked open the bathroom door and barged in screaming my head off. The fly, was resting on the mirror sunbaking using our bathroom light and hearing my entrance it went into combat mode. "Oi, you motherf**king son of a b*tch! I challenge you to a duel!" doing my best touch facial expression, I grab the magazine with both hands and swung it like a baseball bat at the mirror. Missed again..but it's okay, perhaps the third time's the charm. I was wrong. After numerous attempts of trying to destroy the peanut while it mocked me by flying right in front of my face, I have failed miserably. On the verge fo giving up and falling asleep (it was bed time) I was just about to put down my weapon and surrender when my fellow villager/hunter/fly-hater (mother) called to me. "Jade! Have to killed it yet?! What's taking you so long!?"

"Ay, I'm afraid this is a battle too great for me to handle. I'm sorry," I slumped against the wall, ashamed as myself for giving up.

"No. No, Jade. You are born to be a fly-killer. It's in your blood. After your speech, I knew you can do this. I believe in you!," soon, encouraging battle music was heard from the other side of the door.

"We will we rock you...we will we will rock you...". The chanting grow louder and louder.

I sprung to my feet, and chanted along,"We will we will rock you...!"

Newly motivated and pumped, I grabbed my magazine once again and death-stared the fly. "This time, you're going down!" *the following happened in slow-mo*

Me: *on one side of the room, check the mirror to make sure my hair was fine, did a quick yoga stretch, does a hair flick and charged toward the fly* AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH!

Fly: *on the other side of the room, polished its wings, put on a mini helmet, polished the helmet and charged towards me* BUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

It came right at my face and I took a swing. Silence.

More silence...

Then I saw it...THE FLY IS DOWN!!! Laying upside down next to my brush, it took its last breathe. At last, the world is at peace. And all great battle was to be celebrated with a feast ;) Until next time, the end.

Last few things to add before the blog ends...

  • I finished Gossip Girl season one! :D
  • I finally watched Avatar, was good but not spectacular.
  • I'm working this tuesday which is a public holiday and that means double pay!

This is Jade, signing off :)

ka-ching ;)

Everyone, this is you're lucky day :)
because...
a.) I have just got my internet back (actually I had it since yesterday but I was too lazy to write a blog) so that means....A BRAND NEW EXCITING AND SPECTACULAR BLOG FOR YOU TO ENJOY!!

and..

b.) You love my blogs :) I think.... :S

Anyways moving on...
Highlight of the past few days!:
  • I've borrorwed out the first 8 episodes (since it comes in 5 discs, and i borrowed the first and second disc so don't ask why I only have 8 episodes) of season one of GOSSIP GIRL! And I like it! Should totally be a song, so something like...I watched 8 episodes of gossip girl and I liked it...along to Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl' tune and the part where is says "I watched 8 episodes of Gossip Girl" has to be sang quickly to fit the tune/music/rhythm.... cool huh? And I totally came up with the best idea ever while I was looking up if I spelled 'rhythm' right and that is...I shall write a song called "I watched 8 episodes of Gossip Girl" !!! Stay tuned for the lyrics ;) And I will keep watching Gossip Girl :)
  • Watched The Lovely Bones with Irene on Tuesday night. I loved it :) It's engaging, slightly dramatic, chilling, touching, sad, funny and just magnificent. I rate it 4 and a half stars out of 5. Would have gave it a 5 but the killer pissed me off and I still can't believe no one punched him in the face.
  • Was working the other day and saw one of the cutest thing ever. Since there weren't any customers, I was just watching the food court and I saw this old man who had these puffy cheeks. He just bought some chips from me and was sitting down and reading his paper. And then when he started eating...he was like munching each chip with his front teeth like a rabbit! So with the puffy cheeks, the munching and he had a bit of beard and his eyes were like practically popped out for some reason like he's staring hardcore at something...he really looked like a rabbit or a mice! Ahahah it was so cute I started laughing to myself :L
  • Finally downloaded some new songs!

That's pretty much all I can remember lol

Past, present, future?

Mmm...

Things have been going pretty fast and slow at the same time these days. Here's some stuff I did lately...

  • Work....okay that's not actually lately cos the last time I worked was on saturday. I miss it actually :S
  • Went bowling with my cousins. Got a membership I'll get discounted in the future :)
  • Been reading as well. I read the first book of Gossip Girl. I quite like it and I have to say some of the stuff that happened in the book are a bit ironic. But I shall look into the tv series :)
  • Watched some movies. Some movies I've watched recently: Sherlock Holmes, Caramel and Finding Amanda. Sherlock Holmes was alright. It had it's good parts but there were quite a few unneccessary scenes. Caramel is this Lebanese/French film about the lives of these women that works at this beauty salon. Not a bad movie, has a few funny moments and funny charactors but overall a bit boring, a couple really annoying characters and the ending was quite sudden. Finding Amanda is about this guy with a gambling problem which is messing up his marriage so he goes to Las Vegas to try and get his niece into rehab cos she's working as a prostitute. It a comedy so has a few LOL moments...but the story's a bit slow and dragged out and you can tell why it went straight to video. Starring Brittany Snow so worth a watch.
  • Been doing some drawings on Paint. Just scenories and I shall put it up here once I get some internet data.
  • Practiced guitar for once in a long time yesterday. Was strumming hardcore while playing the acoustic version of one of Blink 182 songs...when my pick fell in the guitar hole. Tried to get it out but my hand was too short so in the end I put some rolled up sticky tape on one of my drumsticks and got it out. Success :)

15 days till school start. Felt like I've wasted the entire holiday doing nothing and soon I'll be slaving away at school *sigh*. Before the holiday, I was day dreaming about all the stuff I wanted to do in the holidays. Such as working heaps of hours every week and getting big bucks, to have either an electric guitar or drum kit and seriously developing some skills, going to the park and playing soccer or running around getting nice and fit, watching Video Hits on saturday morings, being home alone and have the tv and computer all to myself, etc.

BUT...none of it really happened because I'm not working heaps every week. No guitar or drum kit cos I wasn't gonna just spend 2 months salary in one day. No going to the park cos don't really have anyone to go with or know anyone who even wants to get involve in physical activities and the weather's boiling. No Video Hits on saturdays cos I normally work on saturdays. And I never get to be home alone cos my brother's gym membership expired and now I have to see his face everyday :@

SO...instead of doing what I thought I'll be doing, I work an average of 3 shifts per week. I go out once or twice a week with friends. And spend the rest of my time at home either watching Las Vegas and movies I've borrowed that week, eating whenever I feel like, or going on the computer. Plus, I've ran out of internet data so lately I can't dowload new songs or go on internet much. Therefore, instead of going on facebook and myspace and playing online games and dowloading songs, I listen to the same list of songs over and over again (I don't really mind but new songs would be good) and play either minesweeper or solitaire for hours and drawing on Paint and going on msn. Seems pretty sweet comparing to school life but it gets boring.

Still dunno what I'm gonna do after high school. Somehow the real world seems a bit unreal at the moment. Probably because of spending too much time at school. So far my plan is: Say IF i get like a OP 1...which Im kinda doubting I will...I guess I'll get into surgery/medicine. And if I don't...I'm thinking about trying out for the Aviation course but I might not get in because I'm not doing physics and if i do get in, I might crash and burn because I didn't do physics. So...I guess I could get into the police force/army or become a paramedic. Or try and become a hot shot movie director or something in fashion.

But looking at those options...it seems a bit unrealistic because to become a doctor or a pilot it costs lots of money and looking at my number of hours and pay per week...I don't think I'll have enough to pay for the courses by that time...unless I get a scholarship or something. I could become a police officer/army soldier or a paramedic but my must-have-a-extremely-high-paying-job-in-order-to-make-life-worth-it ego gets in the way. And as for the movie director/fashion option...it is hard to get into the industry. So I guess I'll just hope that an absolutely brilliant idea would suddenly hit me one day soon.

However, I was reading Lure (free fashion magazine...yes, free) this morning and there was an interview on one of the fashion buyers for Globalize (clothing shop...apparently there isn't one in Brisbane or in QLD at all but hopefully one day there will be cos that shop looks goddamn awesome). And according to this fashion buyer...her job looks pretty sweet. So i guess I shall look into that.

Book Review

I just finished reading this book today called "Crossing The Line" by Dianna Bates. I thought I'll mention this particular book because it's quite different from all the books I've read before ( and i have read plenty just so you know *nerdy smile*). Let's start by telling you the plot. :)

The story's about this 17 year old (around that age) girl who's mum left her when she was around 5 yeard old. She was then taken in by this couple (I can't remember if they were her aunty and uncle or she sees them that way) but then one day they suddenly left her. Since then, Sophie (the girl's name) has been in and out of several foster homes and is under the tight watch of the child-care department. She've grown to not get too involve with the people around since she knows they'll eventually leave her like what her mother did. She does suffer from a lot of disappointments, loniness and hurt but she have ways of dealing with it. Things got better when the department located her to live with these two other people around her age, Matt and Amy. Sophie got along well with Matt and Amy and they've all soon became great friends. Sophie also started at a new school and is fitting in well. She's still seeing a therapist and the department have people to check on her regularly mainly because of her suicidal past. Sophie has gotten close to one of her therapist (or social worker whichever it was), Jan. Sophie had gotten attached to Jan because she feels that Jan truely cares about her and might just be that one constant person in her live. But Jan wasn't. She've left Sophie like everyone in Sophie's life had. Since then Sophie's gotten depressed and she's started cutting herself again. Somehow her therapist, Noel, found out and admitted her to the psych ward. It was in the psych ward when Sophie met Helen, her new therapist. Sophie soon discovered that Helen wasn't like any other therapists she've encountered; Helen made her feel comfortable, cared for and it seems that Helen actually listens to what she says. Sophie soon fell in love with Helen (not romantically, more like she loved her as if Helen's her mother) and Sophie's constantly thinking about her.

The way how Sophie craves Helen so much is probably why this story is different. From the books I've read, normally the troubled girl finds a guy she can confide in and then the guy helps her through all the tough times and finally the girl pulls through and lived happily ever after being trouble-free. But in this book, Sophie wanted Helen to be her motherly figure so much to a level you would say a tad disturbing. However, I don't wanna spoil the ending, but I wouldn't exactly say it had the perfectly happy ending but it created hope for Sophie. And she did found out there is and will be a constant person in her life which is Matt (her flatmate) who cares for her constantly but Sophie's fixation on Helen and wanting a motherly figure prevented her from seeing that during the novel.

Overall, instead of wanting to be with the guy, she wanted to be with the older woman due to the obsence of her mother during her childhood.
So, 'Crossing The Line', is definately worth a read. It get quite emotional and some parts can be a bit disturbing however, it's a great drama.

I rate it 4 out of 5 :D
So hurry up and get yourself a copy, people!

Oh I forgot...

Oh I forgot...we went to Off Ya Tree and afterwards Sarah commented about how emo and creepy the place was ... she thought she was gonna get raped by the chick that talked to us! :L:L:L sorry Sarah I just have to put it in :L HAHAHA

Oh and those pigeons we saw, the one Sarah said to 'F**k off' had orange eyes while Fatty had red eyes. I suggested that we poke the one with the orange eyes so it'll have red eyes too but Sarah said I might get infected with rabies to yea...

That's it I think...I'm very forgetfull :L

*cough* Fake Coffee *cough*

While hanging out at city today, Darby, Sarah and myself decided to just sit near those big silver balls outside the city library. There were pigeons hanging around us and there's this particular one, very fat and cute, which I named Fatty :)
Fatty was very friendly to us and hanged out we us while we talk about random things. It (dunno if it was a he or she...didn't really wanna check, haha) was just paddling around and eating stuff off the ground while we admire it. Well, only Darby and I liked Fatty. Sarah despised Fatty and all the other pigeons....she believe they have rabies and even told a pigeon to 'F**k off', LOL.

Before that, we were sitting in Broadway. I bought a cup of coffee...(okay they weren't coffee, they were hot chocolate but I thought coffee sounded really sophisticated because of what we were doing) and we were sitting at a small round table, me sipping my coffee (hot chocolate) and singing while listening to my iPod (must have annoying the heck out of Sarah and Darby but they were nice and didn't say anything, hehehe), Sarah was learning French on her iPhone while Darby was reading his comic book. From a another person's perspective...we probably just looked like a bunch of kids sitting and being bored...but from where I was sitting, I felt like we were college kids, very grown up-ish. :) I dunno it's just how my mind works. LOL

We also went into Allens Music, Darby and Sarah made a mistake from letting me go cos I spend forever there trying out the digital drum kits!!! Woop woop! One of the best inventions ever I have to say.

We kept with tradition by going Mandarin Paradise :)
And I also had sushi again. Yum yum yum :P

On the train back, there was this guy in a white shirt that kept looking at us. He was reading a book but the way he kept looking made us think he was eavesdropping...very suspicious :S
When Darby and I got off at our stop we were paranoid that he was gonna follow us :L But he didn't so thank gosh, haha.

That shall be all for today :D
Fairwell dearies !

Being Human.

While I was in JB Hi-Fi today, I saw this DVD, it was of the BBC show called 'Being Human'.
Here's a link so check it out first before continueing reading.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/beinghuman/

So it's a supernatural theme about three roommates, one's a vampire, one's a ghost and one's a werewolf. I find it rather intriguing, despise the fact there's so many vampire related tv shows/movies/books these days ><
I blame twilight btw! I mean since twilight, there's so many copycat vampire books which turned into tv shows/movies. So the vampire theme just isn't exciting anymore :(

So back to Being Human. I would've bought the DVD since it was only around $20 for a two-disced complete first series DVD. But since my dear mother is completely against buying DVDs (cos we can just get it from the video store or something *roll eye*), I didn't get it incase I have to put up with a lecture. So i guess I can search for it at my local video shop and hope they have it.

I also saw the ABC show 'Kick'. I actually watched this show when it was showing on tv :D
And I loved it so check it out if you haven't.

Oh and I had more sushi today. Hehe *satisfied*

New Decade.

First post in the new decade...let's have a moment of silence please, to cherish this grand new era. :)

Okay, so new years. Been average for me, I don't feel any different (not that I'm suppose to but yer whatevs), haha. I have to say the highlight of my first day in the new decade would have to be webcam. I, Jade, finally discovered the wonderfulness of communication through the technology (not including phone/internet) of WEBCAM! :D
Pretty awesome!!
